Gabriela Ochoa
MSc, Founder and Executive Director
Gabriela is a Honduran marine biologist and conservationist with over 10 years of experience working with non-profit organizations such as the Roatan Marine Park, MarAlliance, and the GEF Small Grant Programme. She is deeply committed to conserving marine ecosystems and their inhabitants while mentoring the next generation of marine leaders in Honduras. Gabriela has led conservation programs in Honduras, focusing on marine megafauna and coral reefs. She earned her degree in Marine Biology from Texas A&M University and a Master's in Conservation and Biodiversity from the University of Exeter in England. Additionally, Gabriela has been a fellow of the Emerging Wildlife Conservation Leaders (EWCL) program and the Conservation Leadership Program (CLP). She is currently a PhD student at Florida International University co-advised by Dr. Demian Chapman and Dr. Yannis Papastamatiou.
